Q: Can I get a VAT breakdown for a tax return?

Yes — the VAT Summary section is included in the PDF export by default. It lists every tax rate you use, labelled the way you name it (like "A 23%"), with the orders, net, VAT, and gross totals for each rate and a grand Total row at the end. Untick it in the export dialog if you don't need it in a particular file.

What it does

The Orders report (Reports → Orders) is your sales report. It shows revenue over time, what's selling, which items go together, how the money comes in, and how discounts are used — all for the date range you choose. See Reports Overview for the shared date range, granularity, Apply, and PDF export controls.

Tabs and parameters

Switch between these views with the tabs at the top. Each uses the shared date range (and, where noted, granularity and a Group by selector).

Revenue — Revenue Over Time. Total sales plotted across the range. Parameters: date range + granularity (Hourly / Daily / By Weekday / Monthly). Drill-in: when grouped by day, tap a day to open that day's orders.
Top Items — Top Selling Items. Your best-sellers by quantity or value. Parameters: date range + Group by — All items or By category.
Basket Analysis — Items Ordered Together ("frequently bought with"). Pick a menu item and see which other items most often appear on the same order, and how strongly they're associated. Parameters: date range + the item you select (search the catalog, ranked by popularity). Exporting this tab produces a Basket-only PDF for the selected item.
By Type — Orders by Type. Breaks orders and revenue down by a chosen dimension. Parameters: date range + Group by — Order Type, Kitchen Station, or Category. Drill-in: tap a day row (when grouped by date) to open that day's orders.
Payments — Payment Methods. How takings split across cash, card, and other methods. Parameters: date range.
Discounts — Discounts & Vouchers. How discount cards and coupons were used and what they cost. Parameters: date range.

Key things to know

Revenue and By Type day rows are clickable only when the granularity is set to daily — tapping a day opens that single day's order history in an overlay.
Basket Analysis needs an item first — the chart stays empty until you pick a menu item to analyse.
Charts shade out-of-hours periods based on your venue's working hours, so quiet overnight gaps don't look like missing data.
PDF export lets you pick any combination of the Revenue, Top Items, Basket, By Type, Payments, VAT Summary, and Discounts sections — except when exporting from the Basket tab, which always exports just that item's basket analysis. VAT Summary only appears in the list if your venue has tax turned on.
The VAT Summary section lists each tax rate you use — labelled with your own name for it where you have one (for example "A 23%"), so it reads the same as it does on your receipts — with the orders, net, VAT, and gross totals for each rate.
Every section in the PDF export ends with a bold total row adding up its figures. Percentages and averages (like % of Total or Avg Order Value) are left blank on that row, since adding those up wouldn't mean anything.
