QR Menu

What it does

QR Menu turns your regular menu into a digital menu that customers can open on their own phone — either by scanning a printed QR code on the table or by tapping a link you share. It's always built from the same items, categories, pictures, and prices you already maintain, so there's nothing extra to keep updated. Depending on how you set it up, guests can just browse the menu, or they can also add items to a cart and send an order straight to your venue without needing to flag down staff.

Getting started

  1. Open the QR Menu settings from the menu section of your dashboard.
  2. Find your printable QR code and link at the top of the page. Print it out for table tents or stickers, or copy the link to share on social media, your website, or a delivery listing.
  3. Choose which languages guests are allowed to switch between, and pick a default language that the menu opens in.
  4. Choose whether the menu opens in light or dark styling by default.
  5. Turn on or off a few extra details shown on each item — allergen tags, calorie counts, and preparation time.
  6. Scan the code yourself or open the link to see exactly what your customers will see.

Key things to know

  • The digital menu always mirrors your live menu — add, remove, hide, or reprice an item in your normal menu management, and the change shows up on the QR menu right away. There's no separate content to manage.
  • Only managers with menu-configuration access can change QR menu settings; anyone with the link can view and use the menu itself — no login required for guests.
  • If an item is only available at certain times of day, it still shows on the menu but is greyed out with a note about when it becomes available again.
  • A dish whose ingredients have run out is never orderable by a guest. If the item has a recipe and stock can't cover one serving, it shows as unavailable on the QR menu — always, regardless of how the register is set up. A cashier can be warned and decide to go ahead; a guest ordering from their phone can't be asked, so the menu doesn't offer it. See Recipes.
  • Item names and descriptions can appear in multiple languages if you've translated your menu — the QR menu only controls which of those languages guests are offered and which one appears by default. Translating the menu itself is a separate step.
  • If you don't pick any languages, the menu falls back to showing at least one so it's never empty.
  • A brand-new venue starts with every supported language already turned on, so the multilingual menu is there to explore from day one — untick any you don't want, one tap each.
  • Guests can change the language or switch between light/dark themselves at any time while browsing — your defaults are just the starting point.
  • Guests can place an order themselves right from the menu — choosing dine-in with a table or takeout, adding a note, and submitting it directly — no separate app or account needed on their side.
  • A small info button on the menu shows your venue's description, logo, phone numbers, website, and social media links, if you've filled those in for your venue profile.
  • Combo/set items appear on the QR menu at their combined price. If one of a combo's parts runs out of stock, the combo shows as unavailable with a short note naming what's missing — or disappears from the menu entirely, depending on how that's set up in your menu Configuration.
  • If a guest adds every item that makes up a combo separately to their cart, the menu offers a prompt to combine them into the combo and save the difference.

FAQ

Q: Do I need to update anything on the QR menu when I change my regular menu?
A: No. The QR menu always reflects your current menu automatically — new items, price changes, and availability updates all appear without any extra step.

Q: Can guests place an order directly from the QR menu?
A: Yes, guests can build a cart, choose a table (for dine-in) or takeout, add a note, and send the order in — no app download or account needed.

Q: Which languages show up on the QR menu?
A: Whichever ones you've selected in the settings. Guests can switch between them freely; the one you mark as default is what they see first.

Q: Do I need to reprint my QR code if I change a setting?
A: No. The code and link always point to the same page — appearance, language, and detail settings update instantly without changing the link itself.

Q: Can I hide calories or allergen info if I don't track it?
A: Yes, both can be turned off independently in the settings, along with preparation time.

Q: Who can change the QR menu settings?
A: Only staff with permission to manage the digital menu — typically managers or owners. Anyone can view and use the menu itself once they have the link or code.

Q: What happens if a combo/set item on the QR menu is missing one of its parts?
A: It shows as unavailable with a short note naming what's missing — unless you've configured it to be hidden instead, in which case it disappears from the menu until the missing part is back in stock.
